What is an Easter egg?
An Easter egg is hidden content that the developers deliberately place in the game world: nods to movies, TV shows and older games, secret rooms, odd encounters or mysterious places. They're a tradition in the GTA series, from small jokes to puzzles the community chews on for months.
The references Rockstar has already shown
Everything below appears on the official GTA VI website, in texts or image descriptions, or in the Rockstar Newswire. What they refer to is our interpretation.
- Ocean View Hotel: In an official image, Jason and Lucia stand with pistols in front of the Ocean View Hotel. That was the name of Tommy Vercetti's first safehouse in GTA: Vice City back in 2002.
- Vercetti Estate: According to Rockstar, the Ultimate Edition revolvers come from the Vercetti Estate. Tommy Vercetti is the protagonist of GTA: Vice City. Whether you can visit the estate in the game, Rockstar doesn't say.
- Tommy Vercetti's palm shirt: The weapon pattern in the pre-order pack is, according to Rockstar, inspired by Tommy Vercetti's palm-print shirt. Here Rockstar names the character directly. What else is in the pack is in the GTA 6 pre-order guide.
- Ocean Beach and Washington Beach: Both neighborhoods already existed in the 2002 Vice City. In GTA 6 Rockstar names them again.
- Liberty City: According to Rockstar, Lucia's mother has dreamed of the good life since her days in Liberty City. Liberty City is the setting of GTA III and GTA IV.
- Cheetah and Squalo: The sports car and the speedboat already existed under these names in Vice City in 2002. What's known about them is on the GTA 6 vehicles list.
- Pegassi: In one image, the Cheetah is parked in front of Pegassi, according to the description. Pegassi is a car brand from earlier GTA games. Whether that means a dealership, Rockstar doesn't say.
- Flash FM: Rockstar introduced the pop station on October 8, 2026 and calls it a Vice City institution. A station with this name already existed in GTA: Vice City in 2002. All six stations introduced so far are on the GTA 6 radio stations list.
More on the old and new neighborhoods is on the Vice City map page.
Where it sounds like secrets
In the region texts, Rockstar itself hints at mysteries.
- Grassrivers: According to Rockstar, the alligators are the best-known attraction, but the mangroves hold far deadlier predators and stranger discoveries. More on the swamp of Leonida.
- Mount Kalaga: According to Rockstar, the forests are home to backwoods mystics and paranoid radicals, far from the eyes of the government. More on the national park in the north.
- Conspiracy satire: The website has lines written in the tone of conspiracy theories, for instance about birds flying in suspiciously perfect formation.
These aren't locations. But they show where we'll look first after release: in the swamp and in the mountain forests. That's our assessment, not a confirmation.
Easter eggs in earlier GTA games
The series itself shows that the search pays off.
- GTA: Vice City (2002): A hidden room holds an actual chocolate Easter egg.
- GTA: San Andreas (2004): On top of a bridge hangs a sign saying, in effect, that there are no Easter eggs up here.
- GTA IV (2008): Inside Liberty City's Statue of Happiness beats a giant heart.
- GTA V (2013): A mural on Mount Chiliad and UFOs that only appear after 100% completion kept the community busy for years.
How an Easter egg gets on the map
From release on, we only add Easter eggs once they're confirmed in the finished game, each with a location and a source. Tips from players are verified before we take them over. Write to contact@findleonida.com, ideally with a screenshot.
As of today: There are no confirmed GTA 6 Easter eggs from the game itself yet. From November 19, 2026, we'll fill this page with verified finds.
Straight to the map
Easter eggs already have their own filter on the map. Until release, the category is still empty; verified locations will be added step by step afterwards.
