When did GTA 6 pre-orders start?

Rockstar Games confirmed the date on June 18, 2026 together with the official cover art. Pre-orders opened on Thursday, June 25, 2026.

• Store listing

  Unlock time: Rockstar names only the date. The US PlayStation Store lists November 19, 2026, 12:00 AM ET (9:00 PM PT on November 18), the UK store 12:00 AM GMT; Rockstar has not confirmed these times, and no time is known for Xbox.

In the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Store you can pre-order GTA 6 directly, digitally and with no quantity limit. There is a box as well: the Standard Edition with a download code (see editions).

Which editions are there?

There are only two game editions, Standard and Ultimate. Digitally, both are available without limit, so you can take your time deciding. There is no Ultimate Edition box. The only limited item is the “Vice City Collection” collector's box, and it does not include the game. Prices are shown in your PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store.

The retail box: the physical version is the Standard Edition. The box contains a download code, not a disc. It goes on sale on November 12 so you can preload.

What is in the Ultimate Edition?

Rockstar lists 16 items on the official website. According to Rockstar, they are spread across the whole story of Jason and Lucia; each chapter adds new ones.

• Five vehicle packs: the '95 Grotti Cheetah sports car, the '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy off-roader with the Paradise Garage, the Shitzu Squalo speedboat, mods for Jason's Vapid Ganado pickup, plus the Dinka Enduro motorcycle and the Crest Kayak in army livery. According to Rockstar, the Cheetah only becomes available later in the story. Details under vehicles.
• Two weapon packs: the Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers, one version each for Jason and Lucia, with palm-tree grips, engravings and a scope, plus engraved variants of Jason's Girardi ES9 pistol and Lucia's Klose K17.
• Five shops and garages: the streetwear store Stock 305, the Electric Fang tattoo studio with over 50 designs, Sara's Unisex Salon for hair, beard, makeup and nails, and the tuning shops Rideout Customs and One-Eyed Willie's Mod Shop. According to Rockstar, all five are only open with the Ultimate Edition. More under confirmed places.
• Two clothing packs: “Vice City Style” with exclusive outfits and tattoos, and “Goodtime Gear”, a collection built around the TV character Macca the Gator.
• Two additional missions: a raid on the compound of the PTT Youngin$ gang in Southside Vice City, and the Classic Car Collection, in which you track down and restore abandoned classics for the collector Wyman.

Whether Standard Edition buyers get other tuning shops, tattoo studios and clothing stores is something Rockstar has not said.

Both editions include the complete game and the pre-order bonus; the Ultimate adds exclusive vehicles, weapons, clothing and additional action in the story. The price difference is shown in your store.

Pre-order bonuses

Anyone who pre-orders or buys before November 20, 2026 gets the Vintage Vice City Pack, regardless of edition. According to Take-Two, it is a collection of items that recall the days when the neon shone brightest.

  What is in the pack: the two-tone '55 Vapid Stanier sedan with the Shore Court garage near the beach at Ocean Beach, one outfit with hairstyle each (Jason's pastel linen suit, Lucia's red sequin dress) and a tropical pattern for most weapons. According to Rockstar, the pattern is inspired by the palm-tree shirt of Tommy Vercetti, the protagonist of GTA: Vice City.

  One month of GTA+ at no extra cost, only with a digital pre-order

  Important about GTA+: in the PlayStation Store you have to redeem the month by March 31, 2027. After that, the membership renews automatically every month at the regular price until you cancel; you can cancel at any time. In the Xbox Store, check its terms before buying.

Where can you pre-order GTA 6?

Digitally in the PlayStation Store (PS5) and the Microsoft Store (Xbox Series X|S); both also carry the Ultimate Edition. The retail box with a download code is sold by game retailers and is only available as the Standard Edition. Buy in the store of your account's country and check the final price and terms before you buy. We do not list individual retailers on this page and carry no affiliate links here.

Box, game code or store credit?

A disc would be a physical data carrier; with GTA VI, the retail box instead contains a download code, not a disc. A separately sold game code unlocks the named game. Store credit only tops up your account: even with GTA-themed credit, you still have to buy the game in the store afterwards.

With the box, what matters is which account region the code is valid for. According to Rockstar, a PS5 code from the box works with accounts from a specific country group; Xbox codes are not region-locked. Rockstar still recommends buying in the country of your account.

Beware of scams: GTA 6 is one of the biggest releases ever and attracts scammers accordingly. Order only from the official stores and established game retailers. Stay away from third parties promising “early access” or suspiciously cheap keys. Rockstar has not announced early access: the game releases on November 19 (release time and preload date).

Is pre-ordering worth it?

The advantage of pre-ordering: you can preload from November 12, digitally or with the code from the box. That does not automatically make you ready to play at midnight. The download has to be complete and the game installed, and you can only play once it has unlocked in your store. Rockstar has not announced early access.

There is no rush for the game itself: digital versions cannot sell out, and you get the Vintage Vice City Pack with any purchase before November 20. If price matters to you, take your time and compare the official stores and established retailers.

The limited collector's box: Vice City Collection

On September 24, 2026, Rockstar announced “The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection”: a limited collector's box with merchandise built around “Macca the Gator”, a hit TV show in Leonida. The box ships on November 19 and can only be pre-ordered while supplies last. The game is not included.

The box contains, among other things, a 6-inch Macca figure with a secret compartment, Oakley sunglasses, a New Era cap, a crossbody bag, a pin set and a double-sided poster of the entire landscape of Leonida.
